“You know that saying it was love at first sight? That magical moment when two people lock eyes and know instantly they’ve just met the love of their life. Well our story is nothing like that, but it’s no less magical. We grew up living ten minutes apart, but it took us five years after initially meeting to realize we had feelings for each other and another four years of dating before Thomas got down on one knee and asked that all important life-changing question. The story of how we met and fell in love was a long time coming, but you know what? The wait made the reward that much sweeter. Our relationship has grown from acquaintances to friendship and eventually to a love so strongly rooted that its bonds can never be broken. This is our story, eleven years in the making…” By Jenny Wright Read the full story!
It’s not everyday that you get to capture and share the wedding of a sibling and today, I get to share my little brother’s love story. Thomas is one of the best humans that I know. I can’t tell you how in awe I am of him on a daily basis. He is brilliant, honorable and stoic. So you can imagine my excitement and surprise when I got a phone call from him telling me all about THIS GIRL…. Thomas had never called me about girls before and in fact was pretty private about his personal life. He gushed about how they had talked for hours and I knew in that moment that he was absolutely in love. Now, being the rational and responsible person – Thomas let his love blossom over time (the span of 4 years) before he asked Jenny to be his bride.
My brothers and I have always been insanely close. When two of us are together there is a void where we are so missing the third, like the world is just “off”. It has always been that way since we were kids. We have been each others best friends. We grew up in West Virginia on top of a hill with 25 acres of land. It was a magical place for us where we were constantly exploring, creating and adventuring. Most of our fun came from the themes of our nightly bed time stories. Both my mother and father would read to us from the books in the library – a place that is special to us all but in particular, my youngest brother Thomas. The library is where he would ask Jenny to be his wife and where he got to see her in her wedding gown for the first time. It made so much since as they both are very connected to family and absolutely love books – it is just another way that fit. They complement each other in all of the ways you could ever want for someone that you love. While getting her hair fixed the hair stylist asked Jenny if she was nervous. She quietly said no… Today I get to marry my best friend.
I knew after we hung up from that first phone call that Thomas was in love with her – I have always known. But nothing could be more real than the moment that she walked down the aisle and he started to tear. As I looked Thomas, I understood the depth of his feelings – the tears started flooding out of my eyes. Then I looked at my brother John (who was also crying) and we both smiled knowing that it would no longer be just us three, we are now four.
I just love this ring shot on one of my mother’s leatherbound books… This one is on Hawaii which is perfect as that where Thomas and Jenny are honeymooning.
Jenny was gifted with letters from loved ones. We just love her reactions!
These pearls are now a family heirloom as they are the same strand that my father gave my mother on their wedding day.
Such a stunning dress – Jenny looked beautiful.
And we are so in love with her father Ken!
We love that their first look was in the library – the place that they got engaged and the start of their book themed wedding.
It was so exciting to shoot on our property – a place that has been so magical to all of us.
That fateful walk down the aisle…
This image is everything.
For their cake, Thomas and Jenny had petit fours – such a unique touch!
I want to give a special thanks to Jenny’s Family and to my Parents for all they have done to make this wedding possible – especially for having Thomas and Jenny.
A very special thanks to Nicole and Alex for these amazing images and forthcoming film. Our family will cherish these memories forever.
