Manhattan “White” Wedding with Lynnae & Danny

One of the best parts of our job is getting to capture so many amazing couples with really unique stories! We have known Lynnae and Danny for a long time and love to photograph them! We were just waiting for the day when Danny would pop the question. He totally shocked Lynnae when he did. She was training for the Urban Raid Race series and in September of 2014 she won first place for females at the series championship held on Governors Island. While up on the podium accepting her award, Danny stepped up and in front of the entire crowd and got down on one knee. It was a big surprise to Lynnae and even more exciting as both of her parents were in the crowd as well as Danny’s Mother. In her own words Lynnae says “I have achieved more than I ever imagined I could because of his belief in me and how hard he pushes me. He has been my trainer, coach and best friend, so I can’t think of any better way to make our engagement more special.”
So you can imagine with an engagement that special, this couple would plan an even more amazing wedding, or should I say weddings. According to Chinese tradition, a Chinese Fortune Teller 睇相佬  must choose your wedding date for the “best luck in a marriage”. No matter what day they choose is the day that the couple should be married… even if it is on an Tuesday afternoon! For Lynnae and Danny that date ended up on a Friday in January. They decided with the time of year – they would have a “white” wedding  (White dress & Courthouse) – short and sweet with close family and friends and then the “Red” Wedding — a traditional Chinese Celebration with the whole shebang in May. For the White Wedding – Lynnae and Danny wanted a more vintage romance feel and a super shoot all over the city. Our team went from the Financial district down to City Hall, over to China Town and then the Subway only to end with the most extraordinary NYC Street Myst.
