“Nikki and Luke are living a love story.” This is how Nikki’s maid of honor and childhood friend, Alaina, described this amazing couple during her tearful toast. I don’t think that you can explain them any better. The first time Nikki and I chatted on the phone we talked for over an hour (which was awesome). She took me through her adventures with Luke and about their love story. She and Luke first fell in love in high school but went their own ways for college. Even though Nikki went around the world, no one was quite like Luke. Alaina had always been convinced that they were going to get married. Even though they were broken up, living in different states, Alaina just knew that one day it was going to happen. As fate would have it after college Nikki moved back home. She and Luke reconnected and never parted from one another. Later, Nikki and Luke would relocate to the DC Metro Area which is where we got to capture their beautiful engagement photos! For a photographer, they are a dream! Beautiful people inside and out! You just know how perfect these two are by the way they look at one another, by how they talk and laugh together and in those quite moments where they just hold hands, not needing to say anything at all. It was equally exciting and an honor to work with Nikki and Luke’s amazing families. There was so much love, support and tears of joy on this day that so many had been waiting for! As Nikki and Luke are in the DC area, they wanted to have their marriage celebration somewhere close to home and found the stunning Diamond Mills Hotel. It was a beautiful backdrop for this Upstate NY wedding!
She is such a stunning bride!
Before their first look, Luke and Nikki exchanged gifts. Luke wrote a letter to Nikki…
that brought her and everyone else in the room to tears.
He had been working on this gift to his bride since they got engaged. Luke wrote her a letter to open each month for the first year of their marriage.
Nikki had lots of sentimental family connection at here wedding. Her veil and belt were borrowed from her sister-in-law, Kelley, and Nikki embowered her something blue in her wedding dress and the heart was a piece of fabric from her father’s suit.
We just love this reflection image from the beautiful stair at Diamond Mills.
They had a quite moment for their fist look.
And we found this perfect spot for their portraits.
We just loved the color combo! Mint and this fabulous blue!
It’s moments like this…
and this…
and this… that make our heart melt. We just love Nikki’s Dad and all of their expressions in this image.
Lots of happy tears but how romantic is it that Luke, wiped them away?!?
This image on the bridge was our all time favorite of the day!
Right before the reception, Nikki and Luke launched a wish lantern
And then got the party started with one of the best choreographed dances I have ever seen at a wedding! We are so glad that they had the Krispy Media team there to film!
Alaina nd Brad (both friends from childhood) gave some wonderful toasts, full of laughs and tears!
Nikki’s Grandpa stole the show and was a dancing machine.
It was such a spectacular celebration! Thank you both so much for having us capture your amazing Diamond Mills Wedding! We wish you all the love in the world and a lifetime of happiness.
