Jess here! I recently had the pleasure of working with two amazing souls on this three part photo shoot that we’d been planning for months. Dov + Nicole have roots in Upstate NY, but currently live in Florida. After seeing some photos I had taken in the Spring of my daughters playing in the mud, Dov immediately reached out to me to set something up with a vision she had for a “trash-the-dress” shoot. I am always down to plan something out of the box and we were able to make this happen while they were up here visiting a couple of weeks ago.
These two are such a power couple with amazing chemistry. They have a unique energy that radiates and have transformed their lives to better use their gifts for helping others. Leaving their respective business and legal careers, they are described as high energy healers and mentors, helping others to overcome patterns of addiction, painful relationships and the lacking of joy, abundance and meaning. As their work continues to grow and help change the lives of others, we decided to take advantage of our time together to also do some head-shots. They were so nervous at first, but within seconds, they were working the camera with ease. We all have ties to Columbia County, so I planned a fun evening around some of my favorite places to explore. Warren Street has so many great options and it’s always nice to see how much Hudson develops over time.
These ladies were married nearly six years ago on New Years Eve. Being it was the dead of winter, they were unable to achieve the super romantic, golden portraits that a summer sunset allows for. I could tell that that was something they were disappointed about and wanted them to have images they deserved! I knew exactly where I wanted to take them for gorgeous photos, so off to Flower Blossom Farm we went. I have been dying to shoot there forever and the weather could not have been more perfect. The light was just unreal. Although we were there mostly for the trash the dress vision that Dov had, I couldn’t go on without grabbing some bridal portraits in our gorgeous surroundings. It wasn’t something planned or expected, but knowing that they didn’t have the wedding photos they dreamed of, I really wanted to make sure they could leave with that. I couldn’t be happier with how these images turned out, but what they are giving these two really touched my heart. There’s no reason why any couple should go without the photographs they want to capture their love, even if it may be years after they say, “I do.”
