We are so excited to welcome Lauren and Stephen back to the YTK blog! We had such an amazing time with them last year when we got to capture their beautiful Engagement Session. Since the very beginning of the wedding planning process Lauren wanted to do something a bit unique. She wanted a classic, romantic winter wedding with just a hint of a rustic edge. That is why the Lodge at Welch Allyn was such a perfect venue. The tricky part about this wedding was weather… Since we were traveling all the way out to Skaneateles we didn’t want to have to drive through a snow storm but once we got there we REALLY wanted some snow for our winter portraits. When Kim and I woke up it was snowing in Troy — ok we will leave a bit early and fingers crossed we will also have some snow when we get out to Lauren and Stephen. No such luck. The forecast was showing overcast all day and 2% chance of precipitation. Although Kim and I were a bit bummed out that we wouldn’t have snow, we had a stunning bride – awesome groom and lots of great locations to shoot. The day couldn’t have been any more perfect. Lauren looked gorgeous in her wedding gown and Stephen was so dapper. They had an intimate ceremony with family and planned a giant reception after. We ran out (quickly) for a few portraits before the new Mr. & Mrs. were announced to their big reception with all of the guests. Just after their first dance we checked out side and IT WAS SNOWING…. just a pinch of lake effect weather caused a dusting of snow for our happy couple! We made the most of it and captured some snowy night time portraits. Lauren and I were both over the moon about it!
Thank you so much for having YTK capture your Skaneateles Wedding. We with you both a lifetime of happiness!
