When I was a freshman in college I had an amazing opportunity to travel to India with some friends and it was a life changing experience. All of the images are 35mm capture that were later scanned. To me, there is something nostalgic about the look and feel of these images.
I flew into New Delhi, where my friend’s family lives. We had an amazing time exploring the city and the markets. It was amazing to me the contrast of the monochromatic landscape and all of the color in the clothing.
We then explored out around the country. We traveled north to Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh – an amazing place nestled into the mountains. While visiting I saw these school children at recess and HAD to photograph them. The teacher later let me go to the school to take more images.
I love all of the student’s uniforms and how playful they are.
My favorite image from the entire trip – Look at all of the expressions!
After our trip to the mountains we headed south to Agra to see the Taj Mahal – it was amazing.
It was amazing to take in all of the culture. Even the air smelled of spices. The people were all so beautiful.
I am so grateful that I was able to go to India and experience this amazing culture. Hopefully I can go back again – This time with my DSLR.
