David + Lexi’s Schenectady Wedding

This was such a super sweet love story and I am just so happy that I got to capture it for Lexi and Dave. They grew up on the same block just three housed down the street from each other. Since Lexi is super out going and Dave is really shy it took years for them for officially meet. One day on the bus ride home Lexi deiced to start up a conversation from there they started walking from the bus stop together. They quickly became friends and even went to Junior prom together. Dave had always had a crush on Lexi but she at that point really only saw them as friends. Boyfriends and Girlfriends would enter the picture and they drifted apart. Later in college, Dave sent Lexi a message out of the blue – saying “Hello Beautiful”. At this point they both were single and Lexi still just thought of Dave as a good friend. A few weeks later they reconnected and became inseparable. Lexi found herself falling in love with David and after three months she said “I am certain I will marry you.” They were only 18 at the time but through the years their love has grown into the amazing relationship they have today. It was so wonderful to capture this story and I wish you both a lifetime of happiness!

Crooked Lake Love with Sarah + Nick

Sarah + Nick’s wedding was nothing short of something out of a fairy tale. These sweethearts have been an item for the past 9 years and it was so exciting to get to see them tie the knot! Family was at the root of this wedding and one of the best parts was Sara’s Dad’s toast. In essence he said – “She brought home this boy… and I wasn’t happy or keen about it. But, over the years I saw how much they cared for each other, how happy he makes her, and I knew that Nick wasn’t going to go away. Needless to say I have become pretty keen on Nick, and now I have a son.” To me, it is so exciting to watch a love story develop and how that story isn’t just about the couple. It is about everyone who loves and is connected to them. This whole family is just so kind, caring and sweet. It was so amazing to spend the day with them. I also have to note at how talented everyone is. Melissa, Sarah’s Mom created the invitations and they all did a lot of the details that looked fantastic! When Sarah and I first started chatting about her wedding, she explained that her style was rustic and romantic. She wanted to pull in that country charm but keep it classy and elegant. She couldn’t have picked a better venue because the Crooked Lake House is just stunning! We had such an amazing time being part of this day and I LOVEE that Sarah even had some line dancing during the reception. It was such a great time and I am so honored to have been apart of capturing these memories for you! Thank you again for having YTK capture your special day – we wish you all a lifetime of happiness!

Botanical Bliss

“The world is changed because you are made of ivory and gold. The curves of your lips rewrite history.” – Oscar Wilde

This is a story of patience, time and how love wins.
I think that all of us worry at some point that we might not ever find “the one.” Humans all want to connect with a partner, but in the meantime it can be pretty lonely and dark – trying to picture your life but having no way to really imagine who, or how or when. That was the start for William and Matthew. These two incredible men lived states apart and both of them had pretty much given up on love. But fate had a different plan when their paths crossed – everything clicked into place and they just knew that they had found their other half. William even quit his job and moved from Chicago to be with Matthew. Through their years of dating their love grew even deeper and they both knew that they wanted to spend their life together. The night that William proposed to Matthew they had been out celebrating and he got down on one knee and asked Matthew to be his husband. The next morning when they woke up – he asked again “Will you marry me.” Now, that has become their thing -a way of saying I love you- and each day (and sometime multiple times a day) they ask each other to marry them. Their wedding was quiet and intimate with just family and their inner circle of friends. They chose the botanical gardens because they wanted something beautiful but a little wild (like their love for each other). It was an emotional and amazing day. Thank you for asking YTK to capture you love story. We wish you both a lifetime of happiness.

Oak Mountain Marriage

Samantha and Andrew love to hike, ski, travel and explore the world together which is why Oak Mountain was just the perfect spot for their wedding! They first met in school at RIT and then traveled all over the US making close connections and memories with their friends. That was one of the coolest parts about this wedding was how far everyone traveled for this couple and, of course, the killer view! Samantha channeled her artistic side by designing the invitations and the DIY details. And talk about heirlooms! She even reworked and wore her Mama’s wedding dress which was such a sweet sentiment. One thing that we were all a little bummed out about was that Samantha and Andrew’s pup couldn’t attend the wedding BUT we had a plan for that! At their engagement session I took a bunch of images of Kuni and printed out a life size replica of her so she would be in the photos and at the wedding! It was such a fun thing and they just loved it. I loved working with the awesome crew at Oak Mountain and can not get over the fall colors. All in all it was a perfect day – thank you so much for spending it with YTK. We wish you a lifetime of happiness and adventures!

Jayme + Jonathan’s Fall Engagement Shoot

Fall is one of my favorite times of year. You break out the flannel, bake apple crisps and just need to be an inch closer under the covers as the air cools off. It is also the perfect time for weddings and engagement shoots! We had a blast capturing Jayme + Jonathan at Thatcher state park! The colors were perfect and this playful couple is perfect! We can not wait for their wedding at The State Room!

Stunning State Room Wedding Photography + Videography

You know that feeling on Christmas Morning where your heart is bursting with excitement? That is how I feel about this wedding. Kristina and Dan are two of the sweetest people and I am over the moon with their wedding images. These love birds met at a wedding and there were instant sparks (although Dan would tell you that Kristina ignored him for the first part of the wedding). They started chatting and that conversation never stopped. They quickly fell in love and became inseparable. Later, Kristina took a leap of faith and moved out to Oklahoma, where Dan is doing his residency. We love that this sweetheart of a guy is in cardiology, totally fitting right? During their time together Dan came to ask Kristina to be his bride and we had an absolute blast capturing their love story at one of our FAVorite venues – The State Room. Kristina wanted a classy low-key elegant wedding and boy did she deliver. Every detail was stunning and we loved being a part of this incredible day!

Stephanie + Jason’s Birch Hill Wedding

Jess here! Last weekend found me capturing this gorgeous day for Stephanie and Jason. I didn’t have the chance to get to know them very well beforehand, as the Hudson Valley was a bit of a destination wedding weekend for them and their loved ones. They had guests traveling from all over the country to celebrate. As soon as I met them both, I could tell they were such sweet people. We had so much fun hanging out with Steph and her girls while getting ready. What I did know for sure about these two, is that they were not feeling very comfortable being in front of the camera or wanting many posed photos or staged moments. No problem at all! We had a very informal first look, which I happily spent creeping in the bushes to capture. This left us just enough time to fit in portraits with their family and bridal party right before their sunset ceremony, which was under the gorgeous Birdcage at Birch Hill. After portraits, we literally only had about ten minutes to grab photos of just the two of them before the sun sank behind the mountains. I knew they were somewhat dreading the camera, but we had to move fast and every single shot I snapped in those ten minutes was absolute perfection. They were just themselves, happy and excited to exchange their vows in a matter of moments while I did my thing. I could not be happier with what we were able to get!

Their ceremony was beautiful and full of emotions, they had me crying like a baby. Jason’s children stood by their sides, shedding happy tears, while listening to the heartfelt vows they shared with us all. It’s always very moving watching a family come together closer than they already were. The rest of the evening was just stunning and the dance floor was packed the entire time. We had an amazing time with everyone. Steph + Jason, thank you for having us! We are wishing you safe travels on your honeymoon adventures and a lifetime of happiness with your little family. <3

Beautiful Lake George Boathouse Wedding

Jess here! Last weekend, Kim and I spent a gorgeous day at the beach on Lake George capturing this beautiful wedding for Diana and William. I had the pleasure of really getting to know these two in the months leading up to the big day and we shared so many laughs. When they described the vision for their day at a functioning boathouse, I knew it was going to be a great time. Instead of a formal dinner, they chose to have an ongoing cocktail hour for the entire reception with incredible food stations set up all throughout the evening. The Boathouse Restaurant is such a charming location and the food was to die for. I am still dreaming about the seafood bisque. The blend of 80’s and 90’s music had the dance floor packed the entire time and they were able to truly enjoy themselves all night with their loved ones, which is exactly what they wanted. These two have a long history of supporting each other while chasing their dreams. It was such a pleasure to get to know them and be a part of their day.

We are wishing you guys all of the best in the future and cannot wait to share the rest of your images with you!

Thatcher State Park Wedding

We have the sweetest little wedding for you today! The first date Jackie and Mike went on was a hike. They both love the outdoors, their pups and getting to spend time with friends and family. They went through a lot of options trying to pick out the perfect spot for their wedding day but Thacher State Park seemed to be the most special as this was where Mike asked Jackie to be his wife. Thacher is simply stunning and with the completion of the new Visitor’s Center it was the perfect location for this celebration. We could not have asked for a more beautiful day. The leaves were picture perfect as well as the weather! It was a blast getting to capture this couple and we wish them a lifetime of happiness!

Wayside Mass Engagement Shoot

Hey Guys! Thanks for stopping by the blog today! I (Katherine) am so beyond excited to share this stunning Wayside Engagement shoot with you! Life always seems to like to throw you a curve ball or two. For example, we were originally planning this shoot to be in Erie PA, but… Morgan was recently relocated to Mass for a new job (Yay and Congrats girl). So, we decided to work out something more in the middle and Morgan found this great location for us! We loved all of the classic New England charm of The Wayside Inn including the original old mill. It was such a dream shoot and I am so excited to capture this sweet couple next year!
