I am not BIG on desserts. Of course I love the occasional indulgence – dark (dark) chocolate mainly, however there are a limited number of things that I have to have. One delight that I can’t resist (under any circumstances) is the French Macaron – Two sweet meringue-based cookies that sandwich an assortment of gooey goodness. I was treated to the traditional confectionery by one of my dear friends returning from recent trip from France.

Not only did I get a box of perfectly packaged and presented Macarons – they were from Les Marquis de Laduree in Paris. #mouth watering

I don’t know if you have ever had the pleasure of experiencing a French Macaron but, if you haven’t and are in the Capital Region – stop by The Placid Baker in Troy and try an amazingly wonderful (#life changing) treat.

I absolutely love spending time with the Bee Hive. Little Louisa is always a delight to photograph and I am so excited to meet her baby sister, Maple. She was just a Bump the last time I photographed them!

Best Hair Accessories Ever! – You can find similar felt bows and flowers right down the street at Anchor No. 5 Boutique in Troy

Momma Bee has FAB style – her girls always look amazing!

So Sweet! Can’t wait to work with you all again!

Meet Miss Monet – A bubbly personality, who is super sweet and looks adorable in her pale pink dress… Now, I don’t know where are, but  Upstate New York got another snow storm on the first day of spring! At least the ground made a great reflector.

Did you notice the stockings and boots? Yep, Monet has a punky side and loves to rock rebellious colors (her trademark blue), leather, and spikes (of course)

Next time – we need the cupcakes!

Vintage Inspired // Fashion Flair Shoot

I love working with Miss Larissa, who wanted some updated images for her portfolio.  So, the challenge was on – what do you do for an outdoor shoot in winter? I had a fantastic hand-made pheasant hat (pictured) that I was dying to photograph and it went perfectly with the faux–fur wrap, sky bustier, and the nude skirt. It made such a great vintage look and  was complemented by our location!

Can’t wait to work with Miss Riss again – Hopefully next time it will be warmer!

Upstate Farm Engagement Session

I am delighted to share with you some images from this Engagement shoot! The Farm was the perfect backdrop that matched our Bride-to-be’s love of Vintage Style with a Farmhouse flair.  Not only were we lucky to have an amazing warm day with SNOW we also had some fantastic fog that created such a great look!

Family portrait time!!  Ms. Eleanor (puppy on the right) even played a part in the proposal.

And check out this gorgeous ring! The stone was an heirloom from our Groom’s Grandmother.

It was wonderful photographing at the Farm – I am really looking forward to the wedding this September!

Alternative Printing Techniques – Featuring inkAID

Introducing inkAID™! – A short presentation and overview of the use and versatility of inkAID Coatings.

One thing that I always missed about the wet lab was hand creating work, which is generally difficult in our digital era. I learned about inkAID and some other alternative techniques through my dear and talented friend Karen Schlesinger, and was hooked.

So what is it? Very simply: inkAID is a coating that goes on a substrate (paper or other base for your image) that makes the substrate inkjet receptive. This means that you can print on virtually anything that you can get through your printer including: Fabric, Fine Art Papers, Hand Made Papers, certain Metals and even plastic! For the past five years, I have been working with the wonderful people and products of inkAID – check out some Samples Here:

In October I will be teaching these techniques and more alternative processes in an intensive 2-day workshop at the Center for Photography at Woodstock. To learn more visit

Burlesque Shoot with The Diamond Street Dames of Hudson, NY

The Diamond Street Dames are the brainchild of the talented Brittany and Kacey who artfully blend working out with learning the ART of burlesque. Part of the performance is seduction, and how better to practice and learn than a Photo shoot? So, Brittany and Kacey contacted me to do a workshop with the Dames. Most of the Dames had never modeled before, let alone posed in their underwear -we had a 30-minute time slot to shoot each lady. My boudoir sessions are at least two hours so that I can establish a rapport, and execute our combined creative vision. So, you can imagine how we were working in Hyper Drive at the wonderful Club Helsinki in Hudson.
