Rev Hall Wedding

They say that rain on your wedding day is good luck. I think this couple has lots of good luck flowing their way, because it also rained during their engagement shoot, which we made the most of since they came all the way from Massachusetts. The first half of their big day was overcast and just as we were making way to our final spots, the sky started to open up. Now, this girl isn’t afraid of rain in the least, it truly makes for some dramatic and romantic images. It was only fitting that on Rachel + Steve’s wedding day it didn’t just rain, it down poured. Luckily for us, we had an amazing venue to keep us dry with the perfect spots for some AHmazing portraits. These are just a couple of the many reasons why we love shooting in our home town of Troy at Brown’s Revolution Hall.

The Story, written by Steven + Rachel: What happens when two strangers living in Massachusetts, but from different parts of New York, swipe right? They find something in common to talk about.

Dog walks on cold Winter days grew a love between their pups, Rosie and Luna. From that point on, Rachel and Steve knew this was it. The first kiss was New Years Eve, after seeing the movie Joy. Their first Summer together was spent going on adventures to explore nearly a dozen different creameries. That same summer, Rachel took Steve to see Zac Brown Band, his first real concert. As each day passed, their love and bond grew stronger, while overlooking each others quirks and enjoying each others shared interests.

Rachel told Steve early on that she doesn’t like surprises. She is an event planner and likes to know what is going on. So, how does one propose to someone that doesn’t like surprises? Steve threw her off by saying that she might have to wait a few more months, but then finds the perfect opportunity. The Dave Matthew’s Band and Tim Reynolds concert in Saratoga Springs, which was also the day after her birthday. After several close calls with Rachel almost seeing the ring on the way to concert, Steve successfully got Rachel to unroll a blanket with an image inside that read, “You and Me together, we can do anything,” a picture of her ring, and the words, “Rachel will you marry me?” A confused and shocked Rachel then saw Steve on one knee asking her to marry him… and you already know what she said…

The Style: Rachel and Steve are both incredibly close to their families and their celebration was truly a big bash set in the industrial style that they both love so much. Rev Hall was the ideal venue and perfect “middle point,” as so many friends and family traveled in to celebrate this super sweet couple. Steve’s older brother, Peter, preformed the ceremony and included so many funny and touching moments. As you know Rachel is a planner and we are just wild about her details, color pallet and style. THAT NAKED CAKE was one of the best cakes we have seen this season and her flowers were to die for. She wanted something unique, fresh and authentic. We just loved every moment of this moody, industrial wedding and can not be happier for Rachel + Steve!

The Sagamore Wedding

Morgan + AJ – where to start with this magical day at The Sagamore Resort? I have been so excited for this wedding and it started the moment the Morgan and I started emailing. I just adored her from our first email exchange. She is delightful, caring and crazy about AJ. They have a long, fun and fabulous love story and we couldn’t be happier that we got to capture it. This destination wedding was simply sunning and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day. After a serious heatwave, that we were having here in upstate NY, the temp cooled down where we had blue skies and smooth sailing. I could sit here and gush so much about this couple but today, I am just going to let their images speak for themselves.

We love a killer group shot!

The Bridesman shirt is hands down the BEST

We loved the moments with Morgan and her Mama

We thought the bride tribe should cover their face this way….

For an epic first look at the bride!

Just as Morgan walked down the aisle she was greeted by an entire cheering section on the Mohican

This ceremony was perfection – with all the laughter and tears one can hope for!

And yes AJ we had to put this one in because it was the sweetest moment!

Can we talk about their personalized chopsticks? AH-mazing. We just adore little details like that! Abbey’s dress was dreamlike and we are still drooling over the portraits. It was such a great day and we loved every second of it!

We loved Abbye’s stylish flats!

Classic Canfield Casino Wedding

They say that rain on your wedding day is good luck. For James + Ally, we did the clear skies dance all morning hoping that the clouds would clear up just after their ceremony. (and it was my Birthday wish, which came true!) James and Ally are just adorable together! You can see how they truly are the best of friends and this day was such a celebration of that friendship and their deep love. From the very moment we met them we knew that this was going to be a stunning and amazing day! Like several of our couples, James and Ally wanted to keep their wedding more traditional AND NO FIRST LOOK. While some people might not like that, we love when our couples stay true to what matters most to them!! They both really wanted that moment when she walked down the aisle and it couldn’t have been any more perfect.

Style: Ally built her whole inspiration around her love for blue hydrangeas. She found the perfect powder blue for her bridesmaids and it complemented their bouquets to perfection. The entire day was full of classy and traditional wedding touches, from beautiful calligraphy, to the Canfield Casino, Ally and James knew how to throw and fabulous party.  Ally’s dress is another something super special as it was a completely custom design from Modern Trousseau. While dress shopping at Lily Saratoga, Ally fell in love with the fabric on one gown, but she didn’t love the silhouette so she had this stunner made and a pocket square out of the same fabric for James. She looked absolutely stunning. Everyone had a marvelous time and we loved capturing every bit of this celebration!

We also LOVED Ally’s Shoes!

A little wedding gift from James!

A little gift from Ally!

Here is that Modern Trousseau custom pocket square that matched Ally’s Dress!

What a sweet moment with Ally’s Niece!?!

Matching pearls

And this set with Daddy, melts our heart!

That first look!

It’s official!

This antique pearl pin was from Ally’s Mother’s Wedding – we are suckers for little details like this.

Being BIG dog lovers we found this little babe in the park and Ally had to get a pic! This one is for you Haley Anderson! We love you! xo.

You know those classic love stories that start with “Once upon a time… and they end happily ever after?” Well, that is pretty much how this love story goes for Faye and Mark. I can’t begin to tell you how happy I am that they found each other and fell so madly in love. While they are both unique they complement each other so perfectly. Like two pieces of a puzzle they just fit together with their little family.
Faye’s sense of fantasy and fairy tales pulled inspiration for their wedding where we found Mermaids and magic throughout. We loved these little touches and her amazing since of style. WAIT until you see her dress. She chose a stunning gown that was soft pink and it complemented her hair and tattoos. They looked like a dream and it was so much fun to capture all of their family and friends who came from near and far (even as far as England!) Everyone had a blast on the dance floor as they celebrated into the night. It was our pleasure to capture this day and we wish Faye and Mark a lifetime of happiness.

Sweet Saratoga National Wedding with Kristen + Josh

You can tell just how much this couple connects and how much they love each other by the way that they are when around each other. Even though Josh tends to be a man of very few words, you can see everything in the the way that he looks at Kristen. They are the perfect mix of a little bit mushy and romantic while being lots of fun and ready for a good time. We had such a blast with their bridal party – who kept us laughing the entire day. Kristen + Josh were always looking for a celebration. They wanted their wedding to be stylish, classic and laid back where their guests could enjoy beautiful scenery and amazing food. All of those details made Saratoga National the perfect place to host their beautiful wedding. We loved Kristen’s’ choice in her colors and her girls looked stunning in their dresses. It was the perfect spring day for a perfect couple.
Thank you for having YTK capture your day!

The grounds at National are Stunning!

Love this shot of Kristen and her girls!

Charming Shaker Barn Wedding

Christine and Andrew had such a beautiful day to exchange their vows and celebrate with loved ones coming in from all over. While Christine has roots in the area, they have been bouncing around the South over the last few years while Andrew serves in the military. When I first met Christine, we spent a long time in the studio chatting about their love story and big plans. She is just the sweetest little thing with that genuine, southern charm. I knew their day would be incredible and we couldn’t have asked for nicer weather or people to spend the day with!

We have been at Shaker Barn a few times already this season and I just love seeing how each of our couples who celebrate there, make it their own. The barn looked amazing and fresh with florals designed by the oh-so-talented Flower Scout. Rentals from Total Events always pull everything together so nicely. Top it all off with delicious food, perfect coordination and service by Mazzone Hospitality along with Pianoman keeping the music pumping and you have the makings for a flawless wedding day!

We started off getting ready at the Marriott in Latham, which was so calm and laid back as the ladies got all glammed up by Carina Scott and Marla Port.

Then we zipped right over to the Barn to get the lovely Bride into her dress and off to the first look.

It’s show time! Christine’s Grandma played the music for the ceremony, which was such a special touch!

I always have to spend some time with the Shaker Barn Turkeys. <3

Before the party really kicked off, we snuck out for some gorgeous sunset photos. This is my absolute favorite part of the wedding day, when the Bride and Groom can just breathe for a little while and take it all in.

Off to the party!

I always tear up

Congratulations Christine + Andrew! Thank you for having us capture such a special day for you and we wish you all of the love, luck and laughter for the future!

Someday is Today

The Story: “Someday is today.” This was written on a piece of paper when Padraic (finally) popped the question. These two have been together for 8+ years. They are business partners, travel the world together and are the best of friends so it wasn’t a matter of IF they would get married, it was more of a question of when. Thus, “Someday is today.” They are so crazy in love – just look at how they look at each other. Talk about relationship goals. We just loved that we were the ones who got to capture it!

The Style: Through out our planning process, Jennifer would ask – “So when do we dance?” Getting to boogie down was one of her top priories which is why we were so incredibly thrilled that we got to work with DJ Logan Hoffis of Hoffis Entertainment. He is amazing, so if you are still shopping for a DJ, please take note. Catered by our Favorites, Nicole’s Special Events and Catering created a super fun custom menu that reflected on all of their favorite things. From Fish and chips to Phad Thai it was different than most wedding meals and so delicious. Other charming touches, helped keep the rustic and romantic vibes which were perfect at the Shaker Heritage Barn.

For whatever reason, this image makes me think of Dorthy from Wizard of Oz. I just want to put them on, click my heels and say – there is no place like home!

I just love Jennifer’s choice on (well everything) but these invitations were perfection as they gave a nod to the Shaker Barn’s Sting lights!

One of the BEST things about Jennifer is her laugh – she lights up the room and this image captures that perfectly!

I LOVEEE this image of her sister, Rebecca getting the dress ready.

One thing that Jennifer shared with us is that she LOVED her wedding dress, she said that she felt like she could just lounge around on the couch in it and watch TV. I bet you anything in a few weeks she will be doing exactly that haha!

Even though they decided that they were not going to do presents, Jennifer gave Padraic the night sky for their wedding day.

Danielle caught this amazing moment of Padraic practicing his vows before the ceremony.

This bouquet was every bit of spring and beautiful.

Right before she saw her dad, she showed me this handkerchief she had embroidered for him… She knew her Dad would be a crier.

and cry he did, a lot. We JUST love this!

Love the ring hand off.

For their introduction, Jennifer + Padraic came to our studio to film a cover of Scream and Shout – it was epic and everyone loved it!

They then went into a great choreographed first dance

Followed by a surprise slide show from Dad and more tears…

Beautiful Birch Hill Wedding

The Love Story: Jackie Biernacki – Has a ring to it right? We all think so and couldn’t be any happier for this fantastic and fun filled couple. This wedding has been years in the making. Jackie and Nick first met through one of Jackie’s closest friends and Nick’s younger brother, Mitchell. Through parties, cook outs, music festivals and other social shenanigans, Jackie and Nick started seeing each other and it was clear where this relationship was heading. [Jackie] Griffin, Jackie’s best friend, maid of honor, YTK Bride, and “wife” would NEVER give her up to just anyone and Nick really had to work for her acceptance and approval. He did get her blessing along with Jackie’s father, mother and brother. This whole crew is such a tight knit group of family and friends.

The Style: The theme of this wedding is celebration and party down is exactly what they where there to do. This is why Birch Hill was the perfect spot to host a big olde back yard style celebration. Event the rain didn’t stop us! The pavilion prided the perfect coverage from that drizzle! For months Jackie had been planning to surprise ICE Nick and the groomsmen BUT, a few days before the wedding Nick decided that he would play the same prank on the guys. This didn’t phase Jackie at all. She was going to get them one way or another so she changed her plans and decided that she wold ice them IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CEREMONY. Now, for those of you who are not familiar with what being Iced is, it is where you are presented with or find a Smirnoff Ice. At house parties, hosts will hide them in chip bags in couch cushions, and so on or people will wrap them up in gifts. The way it works is when you get Iced, you have to take a knee and chug the entire bottle. So in the most epic of events – Jackie Iced the guys and it was SO funny.

I had such a great time capturing the crew and wish you both a lifetime of happiness.

The Grounds at Birch Hill are fab for photos!

Day Dream Hunter created these custom boutineers

I love the something blue was her chunky heels

The Beauty with Julie squad ready to glam up the girls!

This sequence has us in stitches! Have you ever tired to open a bottle of champagne? Who feels like this?!

Rain wont scare us out of a great first look!

The best friend and now Brother-in-law!

These girls LOST their mind when Jackie walked down the aisle.

and I love SO much that they had their dear friend Greg officiate.

We love a dress that flows like this!

Spring Saratoga National Wedding

The Love Story: Krista + Craig have a fantastic love story, and you know we are such suckers for that. They are high school sweethearts (swoon) and started talking when Krista (after much encouragement by her best friends) mustered up the courage to ask Craig’s younger brother if Craig would give her a ride home. From there they have had many adventures, and twelve years later (almost to the day) they became husband and wife. It was an extraordinary day filled with the best kind of love, from close friends to even closer families. I think that Krista’s Father stole my heart as he showed off her hospital bracelet from the day she was born. We all laughed and cried at the amazing toasts given by Krista’s life long best friends, Liz + Jules and Craig’s brother Eric.

The Style: With Craig’s passion for golf and Krista’s sense of style and class, Saratoga National was the perfect place to host their Upstate Wedding. Krista looked stunning in her Pronovias gown, but let me tell you her beauty comes from within. She is so smart, kind and thoughtful. They chose a soft color pallet of blush, white and pops of pale purple for that sweet spring feel. They just are so natural together It is easy to see how much these two love each other and we are just so thrilled that we got to capture these memories for them.

Krista + Craig, We wish you a lifetime of happiness.

Krista + Craig are such a wonderful couple!

That Pronovias gown is stunning – we just love the lace details!

How great is this hanger shot?

Krista + Craig both exchanged letters right before they saw each other.

First look with with Ladies!

And a super emotional first look with Dad. PLEASE watch the video, his words are worth everything!

And now to see the Groom :::Swoon:::

I love a great back and white.

Tears at a first look are the BEST!

That smile! She makes him light up!

So classic YTK

These flowers from Renaissance Floral Design were so delish!

The besties – can you ask for more stunning Maids of Honor?

The Ceremony Tent at Saratoga National is stunning for a spring wedding

How sweet is this little lady?

I just love it so much when the Bride is escorted down the aisle by both her parents!

I love the tears in the background! So the best.

Off for some picture perfect portraits on the grounds of Saratoga National

That light was everything

The room at Saratoga National looked beautiful with all the draping

During his toast, Krista’s father showed off the hospital bracelet from when she was born!

We just love these ladies! They gave a killer toast!

And Eric (Best Man and Brother of Craig) Had the entire room in stitches.
