Carrie + Kendall’s Albany Hilton Wedding

So we all know how the story goes; a guy meets a girl, they fall in love, get married, start a family and live happily ever after. Well that is not quite how it works in the case of Carrie & Kendall. True they did meet, and fell in love but marriage was never directly on the radar or really a huge priority at all… or at least not at first. One of the most important pieces of my job is learning about my couples and getting to know their love story in addition to getting a feel for their personal style. When I first met up with Kendall and Carrie to talk about their Albany Wedding photography they  filled me in on the story. They always knew that they wanted to be together and didn’t need to say their “I do’s” to honor that. They have been a couple for many years now and have an absolutely gorgeous family with two of the CUTEST kids – ever. But over time, Kendall decided that he wanted to ask Carrie to  be his bride and she never saw if coming. When he did pop the question, she was ecstatic and of course said Yes!

This wedding wasn’t about all the little details or frills, this was a true celebration of family and love.

We had the best view from Carrie’s suite for our getting ready photos. The capital looks great in the background of this shoe shot.

In addition to the great view, these large windows provided excellent light for out getting ready photos.

Princess cut is one of my favorites styles and I think that is quite fitting for Carrie. She reminded me of Kate Middleton on her wedding day especially with that long brown hair and elegant dress design.

We have had a variety of colors on our grooms this year but this slate grey suit is one of my top picks!

Classic black and white with such a classy dress – as you can see everyone was admiring it.

All those last details put right into place before the walk down the aisle.

Such a handsome groom!

and beautiful bride!

Carrie found a church in Albany that had that small town feel. It was perfect for their intimate ceremony.

Dum dum dee dum…

I love that Carrie had her father and little one escort her down the aisle.

It was such an emotional moment – Kendall literally started tearing up.

As you know, family is the fundamental part of their relationship. Both of Kendall’s sisters gave beautiful readings while his mother gazed on with a proud face.

When I capture a wedding (either on film or stills) I am always looking for little details that most people would pass by. They are little treasures that connect everything together like this little snap of Kendall’s wedding vows…. LOVE!

Carrie and Kendall both read their own vows at the ceremony. There were very few dry eyes.

In addition to marrying the love of her life, two of the most important things for Carrie was great wedding photography and videography. Boy do we LOVE that! Not only did we got to work with the awesome team at Clark + Walker Studio, Carrie put extra time in for portraits, so we got to travel OVER Albany for a spectacular view.

This was hands down one of my favorite shots from the day.

Nothing better than a soft romantic moment like this….

They were rocking that super classy look!

Kendall and his boys were dressed to impress.

I am a huge fan (haha) of this shot of Carrie and her beautiful girls.

Carrie is absolutely stunning. I just love this romantic portrait.

The leaves were just starting to change and we took full advantage of the color for our Albany Wedding photographs.

Carrie wanted to do photographs with a more urban setting to represent Kendall who is from the city and a more natural setting to represent her county home.

Could they be more perfect?!? – I think not.

Now off to the reception where we had one of the most memorable best man speeches of all time…

as you can see from the reaction shots…

Parent dances are always my favorite part of the reception.

Meet the new Mr. & Mrs!
